Recap of closing exhibition for the Asteria Collection

The closing exhibition for the Asteria Collection was a great hit, we had so many friends come out for First Friday in Uptown Greenville. I'm so grateful for the community support in Greenville.  I've told several friends and colleagues how surprised I've been by how much people in Greenville do support the arts, but the key word is community and rallying individuals to understand that buying local feeds the local economy.

Here are some shots of the display and my favorite images from Amber of our photoshoot.

I love my new packaging!

Shop on my website

It took me three hours to set up, but I now have a shopping cart system set up on my website!

Since beginning my business, I have learned so much about doing all aspects of it, from setting up my website to doing my own bookkeeping.  It keeps me on my toes and I'm happy I know the ins and outs of running a business.  I'm really loving it.

I hope you will visit my website and see the new improvements I've made to it.   There is a press section and also my one of kind work.

Thank you for reading and visiting!

The Poseidon cuff.  Only $65.  I'd keep it for myself if I didn't have to sell my own jewelry!

Eilisain packaging.  All letterpress and hand done.  I think it makes the purchasing experience that much better!

I've been bad...

about blogging! It was so hard to balance everything with graduating and my senior show that I just had to put this on the burner.

However, I come back with some amaze-aballs news?!  I got featured on one of my favorite websites - Refinery29!!! I love reading about fashion and general news they feature - especially the DC edition.  I was lucky enough to have Holly E. Thomas, the DC editor of Refinery29 to come to the trunk show at Redeem last Saturday night.  She is as uber-cool as you would think a DC fashionista would be.

The trunk show was a great time, meeting new and old customers, such as John Michael of DC Dilemmas and seriously killer style - we share a love of international art. Also two of my old coworkers and friends from HRC came out, Tiffany Dean and Jeoff Lara - makes a girl feel loved!

I miss DC, and it's always good to go back and catch up and get a bit of the city life!

Below are some quick photos I snapped...forgot to take more with my better camera.

Thanks for reading!

Embossed cards

Some close up shots of my embossed cards. I'm really psyched about them, they provide a consistent and professional look to my jewelry.

The above embossing was the second try, with smaller text and
with Jewelry at the bottom...geez that was a test in my sawing skills!

Here is a very general guide to how I embossed my cards - it was very simple, even if you don't have a print roller, you could still emboss cards or paper.
What I did:
  • Print out my logo, but in smaller text; pasted the paper onto a sheet nickel silver (someone left out the perfect size in the studio) or any other cheap metal
  • Pierced out the words (was not an easy task), file and sanded the metal smooth,
  • Then I placed my pierced nickel silver on the print roller,
  • moistened the BFK paper (special and soft),
  • then rolled it through so that it embossed my paper and voila, I have my own packaging paper!
And larger text of Eilisain.

I plan on adding color to the text, I bought some purple ink and plan on trying it out this weekend. We'll see how that goes!
