Birds

I didn't realize until several minutes ago how much I love bird imagery.  It sounds like a duh moment, considering my most popular jewelry is cast from birds but I guess I never really analyzed it.

My late grandmother, Anne, loved birds.  She had a whole room devoted to birds, we called it the bird room.  My grandma was such a wonderful person and I'd like to think she somehow passed her love of birds on to me.

With that this post is dedicated to the beauty of birds and the delicate and somber art of Lauren Gray of The Haunted Hollow Tree.

It's on my Christmas wishlist to get one of her prints!

Aesop's Fables

Another fabulous trade with a talented ECU art student, Ashley Thompson.  She is a painter/printmaker extraordinaire!  She posted her Aesop's Fables series on facebook and I just had to have them, luckily she'd been lusting after my double talon owl earrings so we made a trade, love it when that happens.

Here is the fox print in a new frame, I plan on changing out the prints regularly.   Ashley is seriously talented, don't you think?

it's written on the wall

ECU's print department held a summit this weekend to network, exhibit and understand more about the medium. I didn't attend any of them, except the exhibit and there were awesome prints. I wanted to purchase many of the fabulous prints.

There were some prints that just astounded me, leaving me wondering how they achieved their work.

The print below has a rich and deep color palette.I love the energy in the print below, powerful.
This print had me wondering what the subject was thinking.

One of the best parts of attending school, and benefit of being a student is the art exhibits and meeting so many talented people! Pin It
