bench shot
Did a two flask casting last week so this week it's nothing but cleaning up. I'm so lucky I have a part time job at a jewelry repair shop where, when I'm not busy, I can work on my own pieces.

Guardians of jewelry
Dispersed around my apartment are several jewelry 'altars' - my boyfriend teases me that I have jewelry everywhere...and it's true, I mean, come on, I'm a jewelry?! But it does feel as though they are protecting and imbuing my jewelry with heavenly vibes.
The angel was given to me by a friend years ago and the buddha I bought for myself. How do you display your jewelry?

Planetary lights
Found this brilliant artist via Jeannie Huang. Just a snippet for today. Check out Jeannie's website too, she is like an archaeologist of cool art and design.

Eilisain jewelry now sold at Lawrence Miller and Company
Another great gallery I'm now selling my jewelry at, Lawrence Miller and Co. located in the great shopping district of Old Town Alexandria, Virginia just outside of Washington, D.C.
I've known Tim and Lawrence for quite awhile now, I worked there four years ago before I came to Greenville to attend ECU and I learned SO much. We met taking a metal raising and forming class at the Art League.
These guys are masters at repairing silverware and jewelry, and I'm really honored to be selling in their gallery.
Tim and Lawrence (make a great duo) |
As I always do, I recommend that if you are in their neighborhood visit them, they can fix almost anything and they're quite entertaining to be around!
Here's a preview of what they'll have on sale:
Silver double owl talon earrings. Love these. |

Jewellery Displaced
Such a great way to interact with people and jewellery. It almost looks like a science experiments with them wearing those odd suits.

Eilisain jewelry now at Redeem in D.C.
I'm very happy to announce that Redeem, in the U Street shopping district of Washington, D.C. will now be selling my Hunted line of jewelry.
I had known of Redeem for awhile and recently saw the store featured in several D.C. fashion blogs so I knew they had good taste and their aesthetic is similar to mine - edgy, contemporary and unique.
Lori Parkerson, the owner of Redeem has a great sense of style and eye for well made clothing, jewelry and accessories. There were some great dresses and handbags that I'd love to have in my closet!
Here are several photos I snapped when I visited D.C. this past weekend.
Great collection of books, cleansers and chic accessories. |

Loved this collection of jewelry, a good sign! |
Cool bear wall pieces. |
If you are in DC, visit Redeem, I promise you won't regret it!

New items in my Eilisain Etsy shop
Been working fast and furious these past several days, trying to catch up with work in the studio. The large faux gauge talon earrings are a custom order and I'm quite pleased with them. These larger earrings are definitely heavier than the small gauge earrings but they still work and are definitely fierce!
Since I was casting in silver I thought, why not make the double owl talon earrings as well? It's funny how I now respond to silver since working in bronze, they both have unique properties. Silver in it's liquid form is so much more fluid and melts fast in contrast to manganese bronze which takes longer to melt and is more volatile.

Aesop's Fables
Another fabulous trade with a talented ECU art student, Ashley Thompson. She is a painter/printmaker extraordinaire! She posted her Aesop's Fables series on facebook and I just had to have them, luckily she'd been lusting after my double talon owl earrings so we made a trade, love it when that happens.
Here is the fox print in a new frame, I plan on changing out the prints regularly. Ashley is seriously talented, don't you think?

Sexy black hoops
I'm so lucky to have customers that send me photos of them wearing their newly acquired Eilisain jewelry. Jodie had previously purchased my Deep Sea jewelry and she'd wanted a matching pair of black coral hoop earrings.
Here she is looking fabulous. Just makes my day, thank you Jodie!

Constellation inspired jewelry
Everytime I see such well edited videos I'm spurned to one day make one myself.
The beginning of this video is slow but towards the middle it picks up. I'm fascinated at the metaphor for looking to the stars and heavens and finding inspiration and beauty in jewelry.
