Eilisain aka Lisette in Gaelic

Welcome to my blog, where I document my process in making jewelry, muse on the influence of art and the joy of making beautiful objects.

Cement + Jewelry = very cool

Jim Cotter is quite a rebel in the art jewelry field; he does alot of experimentation and loves working with uncommon materials, such as cement.

I received word that my good friend Tara Locklear is assisting Jim this summer, and of course had to share it with you.  From what I've heard, Haystack Mountain School of Craft is a beautiful retreat to work in.  Check it out and sign up for this awesome class!

Inside Jim Cotter's studio

Isn't this a great video of Jim Cotter in his Colorado studio? Jim Cotter was a visiting artist almost two years ago at ECU and I missed his workshop....I could really kick myself! I'm hoping he'll come back one day...soon. For now I'll enjoy this video of all the amazing jewelry and art he's creating.

check it out...

Jim kinda reminds me of Bob Ebendorf, and ironically they happen to be good friends.
