dragonfly
Found this big one at Atlantic Beach, NC. I've never seen a dragonfly's body upclose like this. It's so delicate and translucent - you can see through it's skin to the stomach and at the end there is a stinger of sorts.
If I weren't a jeweler I'd be a taxidermist, dead things are easier to handle versus when they're alive.
I had such an indulgent and studio-free weekend....now I need to get back to the studio and finish some projects!
