a lil sale

Last week I marked down some pieces from the Hunted collection that I mainly have in overstock,  and boy did that get some sales! It's been great and much needed.

Here are several of the pieces that have been marked down significantly.  You can visit this link that has all the sale items grouped together.  These pieces have been marked down as much as 50% which is a big markdown.

Enjoy it now because I won't keep them on sale for much longer.

The Hunted bronze crow claw ring, marked down from $170 to $85.

The Hunted silver bear claw charm, now $45.

The Hunted double badger claw pendant, one of my popular and versatile pendants.

Crushin on you

So yes Valentine's Day is around the corner and of course I'm having a lil sale.  I know it is so cliche and Valentine's Day is just another 'holiday' for most business' to capitalize on HOWEVER, I do still enjoy celebrating a day to appreciate one another - there is no harm in that right?

Even if you're appreciating yourself, wink, wink.

I'm offering 25% off everything in my Eilisain Etsy Shop, use coupon code: VDAY15 at checkout to redeem.

Epona revisited

Lately I've felt a need to revisit this older collection, my first work in casting was with deer antler.  And I love and miss the texture of the antlers.

As well as the great response I get from customers that love this line.  So....maybe a re-issue of them is in order?  I just relisted the Epona ring on Etsy, so many of my my loyal customers love it.  As do I!

Halloween SALE

Over the past two years I've noticed that right around October sales really start to pick up and I know, it is closer to the holidays however I believe it's partly due to the fact that Eilisain Jewelry is very much tied to death and rebirth - two words very much associated with Halloween.

The crow and owl are both birds of prey and throughout mythology have represented either being harbingers of death and birds that are between two worlds.

With that I'd like to let you know about a special sale I'm having in honor of Samhain (the original pagan holiday).  Samhain is actually the new year celebration and was a time to reflect upon the past year and a time to honor the dead.

Use coupon code: WEEN20 to receive 20% off all Eilisain Jewelry in my Etsy shop.

Deep blue azurite and flourite

Oh Thanksgiving break was too good to me, I ate way too much but also got some good work time in.  I gave myself two days off and in between I was able to finish up some pieces with new stones I got in the mail from a fellow Etsy seller, Instant Karma.

I am just in LOVE with the deep blue of the azurite stone, which fits perfectly into the claws of a crow!  Just listed on my Etsy shop and will be available for sale at the ECU Holiday sale and Brody School of Medicine sale.

Also used a new faceted flourite stone for the crow claw pendant below.  Next week is going to be really crazy but I'm ready for it! And excited.

Thanks for reading and I hope all of you had a happy Thanksgiving!

It's almost here - The Keeper

Tomorrow is the release for my new collection, The Keeper, cast from the shell of a turtle.

Don't worry, no turtles were harmed in the process of making these pieces, my Dad found the turtle shell on his property, almost a year ago and I'd been saving it for a mold.  I'm very pleased with the simplicity yet detailed form of the turtle spine.

I'm still working on additions to the collection, so this isn't all of it.

Whenever I begin working on a new collection, especially when it is based upon the parts of an animal, I become fascinated with the history of the animal.  In the Celtic history and lore the turtle is known as the keeper to the doors of the faerie realm; thus I chose The Keeper.  Turtles sense vibrations through water and through their skin and shell, they are amazing survivors; with very good hearing and sense of smell.    In the Far East the shell of a turtle is the symbol of heaven and the square underside a symbol of earth.  The turtle is also one of the oldest reptiles and has one of the most ancient mythologies.

From my Animal Speak book by Ted Andrews he writes "If turtle has shown up, it is time to get connected to your most primal essence. Go within your shell and come out when your ideas are ready to be expressed.  It is time to recognize that there is an abundance out there for you."

Purple lace

I have to say, I miss screenprinting.  I really enjoyed the class, so I've continued, on my own to do some printing, mainly for my jewelry and displaying it on these lovely little cards.  They were supposed to be boxes but it's just too much work constructing them!

These sweet lil' cards will be prefect for putting my earrings and having them for sales and such.

I have however, moved on from screenprinting to letterpress, which I'm taking this semester.  It's somewhat similar to screenprinting however it requires much more precise coordination and using magnesium plates which are used to mechanically transfer a jpeg image - almost like etching onto a plate.  I haven't started on my first project...of course I"m waiting until the last minute.  Anywho, I'm excited.

Also, I just listed my screenprinted totem cards, 4 for $6 in my Eilisain Etsy shop...check'em out!

Don't forget...I'm having a SALE!

It's the middle of the month and also only two weeks away until my Autumn SALE ends! oh no, but there is still time to receive the 12 % off all my jewelry in my Etsy shop.

I'm making room for new inventory I will be releasing in October, which I'm very excited about.  My Hunted line of jewelry has been quite successful but it's time to move on to new work - it's just as morbid but just as fascinating!

Gem is truly outrageous!

As you've already known, from reading my blog, I'm a dork, a nerd - especially about gemstones, jewelry, and Jem the 80's cartoon.  Anywho, I just got in a shipment of beautiful amethyst points and some small tourmalines from Points of Light.  Aren't they gorgeous?

The carnelians I got from a local shop for a custom order.  I haven't used carnelians in the crow or talon pieces but I think they'll look beautiful.

oh and psst - don't forget I'm having a special Labor Day/September sale - 12% off ALL my jewelry - ONLY this month.

SALE in honor of Labor day weekend and Fall

I haven't had a sale in awhile and I thought, this is the perfect time, change in seasons and wardrobe - both of which I love.

Much of my jewelry is made from animal (parts - found, not harmed) that in some way symbolize change and movement with the seasons; the crow for example is associated with being a messenger, often of death but also for humans many centuries ago - transporting messages to and from long distances.

So with that I give you 12% off all my jewelry for the ENTIRE month of September!!! The coupon code for the 12% off my Eilisain Etsy shop is: FALL12.

Below is a new listing; the original crow claw but plated in 18kt gold.  The crow is clutching a deep dark black tourmaline.
Get it while it's HOT and on SALE!
Thank you for reading and hope you enjoy this long weekend (for my US friends).

Solid silver

I finally cast a solid sterling silver owl talon ring.  Silver is still pricey and since I'd been doing so many castings with bronze, I just didn't get to it. In addition I usually keep the shank/band simple but I had a special order from a Redeem customer, and I'm quite happy with how it came out.

And I'm also happy with the photos.  I used Photoshop and WOW, what a difference.  This ring is also available for custom orders on my Etsy shop!

The Crow amethyst pendant

I meant to post this several days ago but never got around to it! With being back in classes and a new work schedule I haven't had as much time to blog.

The crow claw has presented so many ways to incorporate rough stones, and as with the sterling silver crow claw ring, amethyst just looks so beautiful with it.

I'm going to have to get more of these beautiful amethyst points.

My prrrrrecious

Yes I am a nerd like that, I'd refer to this ring as my prrrecious (reference Lord of the Rings).  Purple is my favorite color and I've always loved the amethyst stone.  I want to keep this ring SO bad but I will set it free on my Eilisain Etsy shop

Black and purple go so well together and in this ring, it is a match made in heaven.  I bought the small amethyst at Points of Light in Asheville while I was at Penland. I bought quite a few stones there so you can bet on seeing more of them in the future.

A perfect size 6.
The stone sits just right in the claws!
By the way, did you hear the Hobbit got extended to three movies??! I can't wait to see the first one this winter.

Thanks for reading!
