Wanderlust

Yesterday my husband and I went for a walk and we began discussing our future travel plans and bucket list of places we most definitely want to visit.  And coincidentally we also got the loveliest holiday package from our friends in Norway. 

As I spread homemade berry jam from Norway on my pancakes I dreamed of walking through snowy towns of Norway.  Bobby and I want to go SO bad.  So I'm devising ways and methods to sock away money for this trip one day.  Mind you, we also want to buy a house and have kids - our dreams are large my friends!

Either way, I think it is achievable and why not dream and dream away of what can happen?

I mean how can you argue with the beauty of Seven Sisters waterfall and picturesque towns like the one above?

And not just that part of me knows that travel and exploring is in my blood, I grew up moving every three years and along the way visiting beautiful cities and towns in South and central America.

For the short time being though, Bobby and I decided we can take short lil vacations to nearby cities, such as a weekend getaway in the mountains or maybe even visit New Orleans!  Either way, one of my biggest goals this year is to save money so we can travel and explore more.

Showstopper

I mentioned it's show season right? Ha, yes and I've received word of several more shows I'm participating in.

One that I'm super psyched about is The Big Crafty, in Asheville at the Asheville Art Museum on July 12th.  It works out even better as I'll be in Western NC with my husband and inlaws for the NC Highland Games (aka Celtic/scottish festival)!!  I'm so gonna nerd out that weekend.

It'll be great to do a local show and especially in Asheville, I love that city.  And the best part will be having my Mom assist me!  She's great with people and I've never had her with me at a show. 

Well and even before the Big Crafty show, I'll be in Durham for the Patchwork Mini-Market at Fullsteam Brewery on July 4th.  Talk about celebrating an American holiday - I think one of the best ways to celebrate this holiday is to support the handmade movement. 

 

And here is a beautiful shot (by Ms. Tara Locklear) of the Brigid Bridesmaid rings...of course I'll have them on sale a both events.  Hopefully I'll see you at one of the many shows I'll be participating in this summer!

Origins Passion and Beliefs Artists Announced by Not Just a Label

   With Origins: Passion and Beliefs Fair roughly two weeks ago, the press and hype is building up; within my studio and with NJAL.

Below is the press release and image corresponding with Stone, aka the jewelry section of the fair.  The Fair divided the artists by industry; textiles, technology, metal and leather.  I'm still astounded that somehow I was selected to participate and nonetheless the only artist not from New York City.  I'm truly proud that I will be representing North Carolina as well as a alumni of East Carolina University School of Art and Design.

Origins - Passion and Beliefs

I can't keep it in any longer, I'm beyond thrilled to announce that I've been selected to participate in ORIGINS - Passion and Beliefs in Veneto, Italy this May!

This opportunity came through a partnership between Not Just a Label and Fiera di Vicenza in the Veneto region of Italy.   Just typing that made me feel breathless, it has been over 10 years since I've been to Europe and the fact that I'm doing this for work (not really work to me as I love making jewelry)?!
