Screenprinting

One of the studio courses I'm taking this semester is screen printing, and I'm very excited about the possibilities. Here is a sneak peak on my first design. What we're learning with our first project is making a screen (the frame and stretching the screen) - yes I made it....also with the help of a great and generous classmate!

I have plans to make greeting cards, jewelry displays, posters and maybe even tshirts. It's really refreshing to take a course in a medium other than metal and I respond well with paper and ink.

Jewelry of the Day: Ken & Dana

Ken & Dana are jewelers based out of Chelsea, NY and much of their jewelry is inspired by the graffiti and abstraction of New York.

I love this brass and enamel ring, has an almost Jackson Pollock vibe to it.

Most of their jewelry collections have a rough and futuristic attitude with underlying social messages, which I really enjoy as a jewelry artist.

This ring is from Geometry collection, cubist.
